Composite Fillings

A composite filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore cavities in teeth. Composite fillings not only look better since they can be matched to the shade of the tooth, they leave more natural tooth structure intact since they require far less drilling and removal of tooth structure than silver (amalgam) filings. Composites bond to the tooth to support the remaining tooth structure, which helps to prevent breakage and keeps the tooth as strong as possible.
